Claire Wilson received an MFA from the University of Wisconsin—Madison in 2018, an MA in 2017, and a BFA from the University of Utah in 2012—where she studied Fine Art and Anthropology. Currently, she is focused on making kinetic sculpture and sound experiments—using a process that she calls “cavewoman robotics”. Wilson’s work is rooted in her interest in playful absurdity, and using it as a method to examine the structures of culture and communication.
Inspired by her wacky Brussels Griffon Cosmo, Claire also loves drawing dogs—where she aims to capture their inherent quirkiness, charm, and humor. Claire is a former instructor of record at the University of Wisconsin—Madison, where she taught Art 212: Drawing Methods and Concepts and Design Foundations.
