Claire Wilson received an MFA from the University of Wisconsin—Madison in 2018, an MA in 2017, and a BFA from the University of Utah in 2012. Currently, she is focused on making kinetic sculptures and sound experiments—using a process that she calls “cavewoman robotics”. Wilson’s work is rooted in her interest in playful absurdity, and using it as a method to generally cope as a human.
Inspired by her wacky pup Cosmo, Claire also loves drawing dogs—where she aims to capture their inherent quirkiness, charm, and humor.
Claire is a former instructor of record at the University of Wisconsin—Madison, where she taught Art 212: How to Draw Good and Design Studies 120: It's Just Shapes, People. She currently resides in Saint Paul, MN.
